Sam has always been our go to firm for gorse control on our hill country farm, on the East coast of the Wairarapa. Our farm is steep, with broken gullies, and scattered gorse bushes, so requires able bodied and fit workers to carry backpack sprayers. Over the years Sam has employed a number of wonderful men. If he is unable to recruit the right people, we will have gorse being left for too long between sprays, which will undo all our years of hard work, (and huge amounts of money) if it is allowed to reseed.
We manage to spray some areas of the farm ourselves each year, but cannot keep the gorse maintained without Sam and his team. Sam and his family do a great job of supporting his staff, and they mix well in the rural communities, playing local rugby etc.
The weeds in this country are getting to be a very big problem and we must all do our bit.
